Aalok Sahai, MD
Board Certified Colorectal Surgeon
Aalok Sahai, MD, is a board-certified surgeon who has been serving the communities of Chandler, and San Tan Valley, Arizona, since 2007. At Sonoran Surgical, Dr. Sahai offers comprehensive and compassionate medical and surgical care to patients dealing with colorectal issues ranging from irritable bowel syndrome to colorectal cancer.
Dr. Sahai was born and raised in Iowa and received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed his general surgery training at Washington University/Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He chose to specialize in colorectal surgery and underwent additional specialized surgical training at Western Pennsylvania/Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He then moved to Phoenix, AZ.
Dr. Sahai is currently board certified in general surgery and colorectal surgery. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive (laparoscopic/robotic) colorectal surgery using the advanced robotic da Vinci® Surgical System. Minimally invasive and robotic surgical procedures provide improved patient outcomes, including more rapid recovery and a reduced risk of scarring and infection.
Paul Tender, MD
Board Certified Colorectal Surgeon
Paul Tender, MD, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon with 25 years of practice and teaching. At Sonoran Surgical, Dr. Tender is committed to providing a collaborative and patient-centered experience delivering a full range of colon and rectal surgical services.
Dr. Tender was raised in northern Ohio. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Akron and his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He then completed his General Surgery training at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan, and his Colon and Rectal Surgery residency at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
Dr. Tender’s expertise includes Office Based Proctology, Colon and Rectal Cancer, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, and Diverticular disease. Additionally, his experience leading a multidisciplinary care team for patients with colorectal cancer has allowed him to see the benefits of this contemporary approach firsthand.
After practicing for 25 years in Illinois, Dr. Tender is excited to relocate to Chandler, and San Tan Valley, Arizona, and is looking forward to caring for this community.
Rohit Sahai, MD

Rohit K. Sahai, MD, is a board-certified surgeon, specializing in general and oncological surgical procedures at Sonoran Surgical in Chandler, and San Tan Valley, Arizona. He is dedicated to providing quality medical and surgical care to his patients with the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Sahai was born and raised in Iowa. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Iowa, and his medical degree from the prestigious University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He then completed his general surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. During his general surgery training, he chose to specialize in surgical oncology and underwent two further years of training at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York.
With a board certification in general surgery with an emphasis on cancer care, Dr. Sahai has a particular interest in advanced and complex general surgery, including minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques.
